Do you know what the physical activity recommendations are for your age-group?

Males & Females ages 13-17

  • 60 minutes of moderate-vigorous activity each day
  • Incorporate Strength and Aerobic activity

Males & Females aged 18-64

  • 150-300 minutes moderate activity per week, or
  • 75-150 minutes vigorous activity per week
  • Strength activity 2 x per week

Males & Females 65+

  • 30 minutes of moderate intensity daily
  • Important to incorporate strength activities every week

Here are some helpful tips for you to not only reach, but exceed these recommendations.

  1. Limit time in-front of electronics
  2. Park further away from your destination so that you increase time spent walking
  3. Create a routine for exercising – Set aside a time each week or each day to be physically active
  4. Use a buddy system – Working out with a friend is always more enjoyable
  5. Have a limit on time spent sitting – At work or home, don’t sit for more than 45 minutes at a time, get up and get active.
