Training with a friend:
Having somebody to rely on to help you through a tough workout, or even just to get you off the couch and out the front door is of more value than one might usually think of when it comes to your own health and fitness. So having a friend or somebody close to you to work out with can provide so many benefits to your health and fitness journey.
Motivation
Training with somebody can not only motivate you to start working out, it will motivate you to continue training and not skip a day as there will be someone there waiting and wanting to see you. Having someone who you relate to and have the same goals as will greatly increase your own self-motivation to workout and not to give up as they will be right beside you to pick you up. Together you can track your progress and see the results of your hard work in each other and gain greater motivation from seeing your friend achieve their goals.
Work Harder
Having a training companion will make you push and train harder than you might usually do, no more ‘cheating a rep or set’. A friendly sense of competition never hurts either, and with training with a friend that sense of competition may just come out, and before you know it, you’ll be working harder than before trying to match or even beat them.
Enjoyment
Finally, going to the gym and training with someone you enjoy being around always makes everything better. By having someone close to you that understands who you are and what you want to achieve will make everything easier. No longer will you have to sit silently by yourself between sets, you’ll be able to have a chat, catch up and laugh while you and your friend start your fitness journey together.
